Easter House

No, love, it will not matter in the least
if we hunker down in this house
rescued from the grave, with
its rolling floors and colors that spark
warm desire—an Easter house, really,
resurrection through sweat and laughter.

But it is always you I truly see—hole or cedar ceiling,
Dark earth or flinging snow
Just you inscribed on everything, into the textures of it all.
These boards, well, they will hold our love
whatever happens,
letting it seep out to others like a secret whisper,
like the incense of wisdom
that discerned how to be happy rather than
merely clever or appropriate.

Perhaps we planted an apple seed with this home,
But it is enough, my friend,
Because we have much in us yet that can bow and yield and release,
And then raise our eyes to all that Could Be
Because we know the intimate language of
A once-neglected love breathed awake

And full of light.

Desire of Warm and Flowing Things

Twelve new inches of snow,
burying the crocus, but
I hear purple shadows laughing
beneath the white.
Birds called out a symphony this morning,
chasing the spirals of wind-flung flakes,
and the chickens scraped away with
their bare clawed feet,
clucking with something between impatience
and question marks.
No stopping a feeling of sunshine,
an intimation of running water,

the desire of warm and flowing things.

Kim's Cafepress Shop is Now Open!

Just click on the link at the top of this blog entry to go to my new ink-creations shop--high-energy tribal-style patterns featuring trees, leaves, Golden Doodle dogs and Yoga themes.  I'll be adding more patterns as each week, so be sure to check back often.

 SpiralWeave

The shop has tons of products like T-Shirts, mugs, hoodies, jewelry, hats, reusable grocery bags, stickers and even dog shirts.  If you don't see what you were looking for, give me a holler and I'll see if I can make it happen.

 Tribal Leaf

I've been doing ink drawings as a form of journaling for over 35 years.  It's fun to start bringing some of my recent art into the public and putting it on useful items. Right now, I'm working in black and white but will be starting to add some color, too.

 Om Roses

If any of the works appeal to you as a possible tattoo, just let me know.  I'll can send you the image for a small donation to my www.classroomguhalifelonglearning.com site.

Enjoy!

Yoga, Chair Yoga and Qigong classes via Youtube!

Image result for public domain image of yoga

Just wanted to let you know that you can find my yoga, chair yoga and qigong programs on Youtube.  They are in a private folder and to access them, all you have to do is is make a small donation of any amount via paypal (please go to www.classroomguhalifelonglearning.com and click the donate now button on the right), send me the email you want your program code delivered to, and then use that code in your browser line to access your program!  You have the program you "paid for" forever...just keep the code!

Every three weeks or so, I'll upload a new program in all three categories so you can do yoga, chair yoga or qigong in the comfort of your own home with new material.

I also will have hour long adult education programs on youtube available for view with a small donation.  The first is Beyond Radical Islam, and looks at the Sufi tradition, art, poetry, dance and music of Islam.  If you get this program, I will send you the powerpoint to the program for free so you can follow along on your computer easily.  :-)  Works great with small groups as well.

I leave the donation amount totally up to you.  You may message me via facebook or kim@classroomguhalifelonglearning.com

Holler if you have any questions!
Blessings,
Kim
