Dressage: A Poem

The words drudge,
shred this wildflower language tangle
petal by petal.
How can I explain to a gardener
how four hooves cup the bare dirt,
dusty, unforgiving, even to my shock-absorber ankles,
But OH!
The rhythm shudders creation
Awake
long before
mere craft
can even grasp the movement of the whip.
