An-Nur: A Knowing Light

Aor: Hebrew for the first light of creation, as in Genesis

With aor did You call it forth,
Separating the darkness from the light,
That each might better know itself
In relationship.
If all the cosmos is love,
Then this duality of light and dark is
the manifest canvas,
Where the signature of God
Fades from what we know
Into what we do not know yet.
Praise the dark as well as the light,
That draws our curiosity forward,
Into places we have not tread,
And let us,
On that journey
Still discover within us
The light from the beginning time.
