As-Sami’: Hearing Beneath the Manifest

Eclipse last night,
the blood moon,
and as my friend said,
“there was a disturbance in
the Force.”
Sometimes, our ears seem tuned
to hear what is beneath sound,
like we are streams, all of us,
the water rushing over
the stones of our beds
and deep beneath,  in a place of dry sand,
our hearts the base of some ancient river boulder,
we thrum in time to a drum-echo of H20 molecules
telling stories of being clouds,
of being space travelers,
of being holy.
