Al-Mutakabbir: Perfect Transcendence

There are times we
float our hands like clouds,
our feet slide effortlessly
over the trail,
and we know the bird’s way
through the labyrinth of trees.
When every idea of who we are
and who God is
was a page turned three finger-swipes back,
with infinity before us.
This is the mighty telescope
directed to examine blackness
and finding thousands of galaxies
stretching away to pinpoints.
Focus within—
you will find the same vastness,
echoed.
