Why does this sigh breathe
so deep along the bone?
Perhaps it simply recalled
slowing from sparkling ray to spiraling DNA,
to the womb that compressed light
Stamped out into the ten-thousand things,
even Icons sometimes go face to face
and breath to breath,
startled when stones speak,
when waves pause at their crest in recognition
or the logs, catching fire
laugh and cough and swirl
their way back into remembrance.
