Al-Mu’izz: The Exalter

What upholds the hawk on the air,
this “something more” than feather
and atmosphere?
What moves our fingers over the flute holes
and lingers after the notes die away?
What calls the apple to ripeness,
and coffees the
leaping, bounding cavorting of the baby goat?
Two words: Persistence and rock.
These should point you forward and back,
so that you bow
and bow
