Al-Khabir: The Seed of Creativity

There is a seed-magic in that first small stirring,
that hinting,
like buying a loom before
you realize that you are pregnant;
like going to the grocery store
with no list
only an echo of a flavor’s memory on your tongue;
like sniffing the blue sky wind and noticing
the way it touches your lungs is whispering
snowflakes by evening.
It’s dark there, in the folds of your heart and mind,
and the soil is rich,
and nurturing
like the still, small voice
of God.
