Al-Kabir: Outward Creative Power

Magician’s Apprentice, yes,
we were taught to fear such things,
how the world would fall apart when
we try to be large and powerful and wield Magic.
There is a secret to such wands, though—
each creative act can connect us to the Cosmos,
and in that relationship
we enter into the dance with God’s own
outpouring, generous, and complex Spirit.
We do not create for ourselves alone,
an economy of inwardness, but rather,
each act is a cry to the stars,
our own light bubbling up and blazing,
like answering like,
until the mirror disappears
and we recognize home in
everything in motion.
