Al-Hayy: The Energy of Life

Be wild today.
No, not as in destructive or careless,
but rather,
let your sense run amok,
your fingers curled around air currents,
your nose lifted a little,
smelling the morning news.
Can you taste the change here,
the way last night’s rain
fed slug and dahlia alike?
I hear it in the way you sigh now,
a child opening into the half-light of day
with a smile,
the gambol of a squirrel
swishing along the high wire.
Plug in, my friend,
there is enough juice here for everyone.
