The Non-Dual Gospel of Matthew: 10:24-25

10:24-25

A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. It is enough for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master.  If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign those of his household.

Until you have learned
the shadows of relative reality—
those places within you that start to see
how disciple and teacher and stranger
walk in stride
together
and yet
still fall into this and that
good and evil
for us and against us--
name calling will hurt.

The strident voice outside labels you.
The still, small voice within
tells you
not to fear.

How do you tell one from the other?
Discern the compassionate path.
It will seem harder, narrower,
but your feet upon it

will fly.
