The Non-Dual Gospel of Matthew: 10:16

10:16

Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.

Whether we go to truth like a serpent,
spiraling, our bellies close to the earth,
or in a straight line,
our wings singing
like mourning doves,
we cannot get there in a herd.
Nor will twining in the Tree of Knowledge
or fanning pure sacrificial peace
with your feathers
save you from tooth and claw.
Innocence is always the
dusty belly and updraft
of

presence.
