Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.
We can only pass through wisdom’s gate one by one,
and the path we tread is
The crowd will try to push you along another way,
the well-meaning family or friend
may take you by the arm and hurry you forward.
That would be the right moment to dig in your feet.
How easy to be bound up in the church crowd
or the comfortable
negation of your book-group and
But to stand,
to face the doorway
whole and unified,
that is the spiritual journey of
the waking few.
